Speaker 20:12

Are you interested in angels, demons, ghosts, spirits, and monsters? Are you curious about their origins, tales, and influence upon history and on the present day? If so, then sit back, relax, and welcome to Southern Demonology, the podcast that explores all of this and more. Hello all. Welcome back to another episode of Southern Demonology. And we're taking a break from our demonology series for once, because I have an extra special guest that I would like to introduce to everyone. I have with me today Tommy from the Let's Get Freaky podcast. And no, it's not that kind of freaky, and that's his joke, not mine.

But he I first heard Tommy speaking with uh Chris in the Wandering Road, who everyone knows we have uh a very good friendship, and it was phenomenal. And after hearing that interview, I knew that I had to talk to him as well. So I'm a I'm leaching a little bit from the from the wandering road, but you know, it's a partnership more than anything else. But Tommy, how are you doing this evening?

Speaker 11:27

Thank you, brother. I'm very excited to be here, man. Thank you very much. I'm looking forward to this one. And you're right.

Speaker 21:32

You and me both. I've been talking about it. It's not that kind of freaky.

Speaker 11:35

It's it's scary freaky we do with a let's get freaky. Not the other kind of freaky.

Speaker 21:41

Yeah, I am I'm certainly not known for anything else other than what I do. But I'm I'm excited to be here, man. Thank you very much for inviting me on, brother. Well, of course. I wouldn't have it any other way, my friend. So just to start us off, a little bit of uh icebreaking here. For listeners who may be new to your show, who are you and what's your podcast about?

Speaker 12:06

Yeah, so the the podcast is called Let's Get Freaky. And I basically have cool guests on sharing paranormal experiences, ghosts, cryptids, UFOs, all topics of high strangeness, a little bit of conspiracy as well, because I think that can be connected too. And yeah, we just we just get freaky, man. I've had a lot of paranormal experiences myself, so I know this stuff is real, you know. I don't I know when I'm talking to people that these experiences are real because I've experienced so much weird stuff myself, you know. And I just want, you know, obviously we all want answers, it's very difficult to know because there's there's so much to this paranormal stuff, but I just like talking to people, hearing other people's thoughts and opinions because we've all got different opinions on what this kind of stuff is, you know, and that's it, really, man. It's just learning and sharing, and you know, a lot of these paranormal experiences that we have, they're not as strange as they're actually quite common. A lot of people do experience this kind of stuff, you know. Even people that say they don't believe in the paranormal, it's not real, and stuff like that. Even them, you know, they'll turn around and say, But there was this one time, and they're the stories that you know really grabbed my attention when they say, you know, there was this one time they tell me this incredible experience that they've had, and you're like, Well, the man, that sounds that sounds paranormal, man. You know, but it's and it's fascinating. It's a scary topic, it does scare me. I do get scared. I am very scared of the dark still to this day, but it's always just fascinating me. All topics of high strangeness, and yeah, I just want to learn more, man. So that's why I do the show to meet cool people like yourself.

Speaker 23:34

Well, I don't think you would be the first person who was who would categorize me as cool, but I think I'll drop you some money in the van. No, you're a cool dude. You got a podcast that you're cool. You're a cool dude. I feel trust me. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. One of the things that I did not think that I would get out of the podcasting world that has become the most important. Part of the shared experiences and community that you get. We have it on the Discord channel. It's, you know, I've met some of the best friends I've ever had through all this. It's been absolutely fantastic.

Speaker 14:11

So I feel like you put out your vibe, you find your tribe. I don't think I made that saying, but I really believe it. And that's that's what you do with a podcast. You put out your, you know, it is your basic your vibe, it's it's your kind of ship that you kind of take where you want, and people join, and you know, not everyone's gonna like it, but the people that do, you you you get a real strong connection with them. And I think that's what's so cool about podcasting. You really find your people, I believe, you know, and that's that's what's so cool. Absolutely.

Speaker 14:39

It's a great community. The whole paranormal, I think, largely is a fantastic community. People get on, we you know, we go on each other's shows, and we all just want to learn more and and and hear other people's experiences. I think it's really cool, man.

Speaker 24:53

Completely agree. And that, and you know, there's a customer service element to it as well, because you know, for people that feel alone who have had these experiences, and they don't want to be branded as crazy or strange or weird, and this provides at least an outlet to let them know that hey, you're not alone. A lot of other people have had this. You know, I normally come at this from the much darker experience that people can have, whether it be the infernal or something along those lines. Yeah, I mean, it's there are all kinds. So you mentioned that you have your you've had your own paranormal experience. I would love to hear more about that.

Speaker 15:39

Yeah, there's been quite a few to be honest, over the years. It's weird because when I started Let's Get Freaky, I kind of thought about all the experiences that I had, and I never saw myself as someone that has a lot of experiences until I started talking about it, and then I realized oh I have had quite a lot weird. I've had quite a lot of experiences. I have to say, my experiences normally not I know in the in the paranormal world there's this thing about you know this stuff being positive and you know the other side where this stuff is negative. I'm kind of in the middle, you know. I don't I don't want to say it's all negative, and I don't want to say it's all positive either. What I've what I've experienced has largely been terrifying, to be honest. You know, it doesn't it's not there has been good things that have happened, don't get me wrong, but a lot of what I the paranormal I have experienced, I've been scared, you know. It's not been a comfortable, joyful experience. So it kind of starts from the beginning, really, when I was a little kid, you know, I was very much I've always been fascinated with the topic since since I can remember, since I've you know start could start watching TV and taking stuff in. But I was always a little bit interested before I even really knew what it was. And that's only by what my mum tells me stuff that I used to come out with things when I was little that were a little bit strange. I had imaginary friends, which I'm not saying is paranormal, but sometimes it can be linked with the paranormal. I was always very scared of the dark, I've always had a natural fear of the dark, which I still have to this day. I'm still very scared of the dark, I'm not afraid to admit it. Um if my wife's not with me at home, I'll have a light on or I'll have a TV on.

I can't be in the dark on my own to this day because of what I've experienced. So it really started when I was I was around, you know, five, six, seven, eight, nine. I was that kind of age. We lived in a haunted house. Classic haunted house stuff, you know, you'd hear something walking around at night when everyone was in bed, you would get that feeling that something was watching you all the time, things used to go missing. The whole family felt it, but we never really talked about it until later on. While we whilst we were living at the house, it wasn't something we discussed, and me and my brother were very young as well, so you know, my mum and dad didn't want to scare us, but we grew up in a house which had that vibe, you know, that vibe that something wasn't something was there, something was there, and there was a few big standout moments which kind of made it very real for me. So me and my brother was a very old house or not particularly, no. That was a thing as well. It wasn't a particularly old house. I mean, we was from Brentwood in Essex, which is a very, you know, old uh old uh town in in Essex in the UK. I know everything's pretty old in the UK, but you know, there was a lot a lot of history there, you know, which I didn't really find out until recently. You know, there were there was witch trials there and all sorts of things that happened there. The house itself wasn't particularly old. It was sitting behind a forest. I mean Brentwood was a whole it was a forest at one point, but you know, it was very close to a graveyard. The house was very near to a graveyard as well. We do believe as well that the the house that we the house, the couple that lived in the house before, we believed that the man died. He died in the house. We're not 100% sure of that, but we believe that's possible. But there was just this weird energy in the house, you know, that we all felt that we didn't really talk about until we left. But me and my brother shared a bedroom and we had bunk beds. Again, I was I was I was a terrible sleeper as a kid. So if I woke up during the night and the light wasn't on, and even if the light was on, I would still get up and try and get in bed with my mum and dad. And this was a problem, it was a problem for mum and dad, because I did it every night pretty much. Uh I was about 10 years old when this this happened, and this was this is probably the this is maybe one of the big reasons why I do a paranormal podcast because it kind of set me off on this, you know, this is this is the the the memory that I'll never be able to get rid of. This was the night. So I mean my brother were sharing a room. I was on the top bunk and I woke up one night and all the lights were off in our bedroom, but you could kind of see the street lights were coming in, so that you could you could make out the layout of the room. So I woke up, and anyway, I I panicked when I wake up during the night when I was a kid, and I've looked down at my desk, which was in the corner of my room, and there was a man sitting there at the desk. A full-bodied man. Now I've just screamed, you know. I'm not even thinking ghosts at this point. There was just a man in my room. And he wasn't see-through or anything like that. This was a full, it was just a there was a man in my room. You know, the weird thing is this kind of guy, this this guy looked like William Shakespeare. That was the kind of look this guy had. Yeah. He had long brown hair, he had a brown beard, you know, he had a brown suit on, and he was kind of sitting there with his head in his fist, looking in my kind of direction. He didn't, he didn't move when I when I acknowledged him, you know, when I was screaming and shouting. He didn't change his facial expressions, as far as I can remember. He was just didn't move. But he was solid, but he was absolutely there. And I'm screaming, my mum's come in the room, and I was just I was I was a mess. I'm pointing to the corner of the room saying, There's a man, there's a man in my room, there's a man in my room, and she's trying to calm me down. She can't see this man. So she's saying, There's no man in your room, it's fine. Calm, like calming me down. But I was I was hysterical, I was a mess.

Speaker 210:44

And she's gone over to when she was in the room. Could you still see him? I could still see him.

Speaker 110:48

He didn't move, he was exactly the same. And my mum's gone over to the corner of the corner of the room where he was, and I can't tell you if she's gone through him or anything like that. I just didn't take that in. I don't know if she did, but she she couldn't see him. So she he to her, to her, he wasn't there. But she came back to me and she was like, she's she got a little bit angry. She was like, You are staying in your room tonight because they were going through a phase of trying to make me stay in my room. So somehow, after me begging to get out of a room and my mum saying no, and I do say this every time I share this story, my mum apologizes to this day. To this day, she will listen to this podcast, she listens to every show that I do, and she apologizes every time. But I kind of say it's it's fine now, mum. It's a long time ago.

I'm over it. It's good, it's probably why I do the podcast, so don't worry, it's meant to be. Anyway, I I've gone under the covers and I just remember sweating. I was I was honestly terrified by it. So much fear, as you can imagine. And I'm sweating up, I was crying, I was just a mess. And I just kept looking, and this dude was there. He didn't vanish, he didn't change, but it was like as solid as me and you. It wasn't like I'm seeing a poster in my room and I'm making out something. This this it was it was there, you know.

And this this went on all night. I was just under my covers, looking, you know, it went on for quite a while. Somehow I fell asleep, woke up the next morning. This the dude was gone, and I never saw that particular entity ghost, whatever you want to call it. I never saw it ever again. But from that moment on, I was like, you know, this this stuff is is 100% real. You know, I'd had experiences before, saw a lot of weird things when I was a kid, but nothing quite as definite as that moment. And for me, it kind of changed everything, you know.

Speaker 212:34

I can imagine why. That is a formative experience to put it in the leads to work.

Speaker 112:40

Mm-hmm. Well, absolutely, absolutely, man. And people say, Oh, you you might have been dreaming. I wasn't dreaming. You know, my mum remembers coming in that room that night to this day, she remembers me having that freak out and going, you know, crazy and her trying to make me stay in the room. I s I could see him. He wasn't and and it wasn't as if I was seeing things every night like that. That that's the only time I would say I've seen something for that long, that clear, you know. And if it was my imagination, I'm pretty sure I would s have seen a lot more. I did see other stuff in the house, but I would have thought that would be a much more common thing if my imagination was that good. This was real, you know, and it was no doubt in my mind. And my brother, who's a bit more skeptical than me, but you know, he does, he's but he's one of those. He's one of those that are telling you, he's not sure, but he's had experiences in exactly the same spot in that in that room. I'm not sure if it was after or before my experience or after, but in the same area, he woke up one night and he wasn't as scared as me of the dark and stuff, but he he woke up and he saw two red eyes in the same area that I saw the man, and he said these two red eyes were just floating towards him and then they just disappeared. And that that was what he saw in the house. That was his like visual. He, you know, if you ask him today, he'll say, I might have been dreaming, you know. Which he might, I'm not saying he wasn't, but I think he had that experience, and it was in the same area that I saw the man, and I'm not sure that I would have shared, I don't know if I did talk about that experience with him when when we were kids, you know, he was very young as well, so I don't know, but uh yeah. That was that was kind of like the first big experience for me.

Speaker 214:15

Red eyes is ooh, that's a bad sign.

Speaker 114:19

Never normally good.

Speaker 214:20

No, you don't ever hear red eyes and then balloons.

Speaker 114:24

No, yeah, red eyes are never normally a good thing.

Speaker 214:27

So what other experiences did you have in that particular house?

Speaker 114:30

So another another big standout experience, this was during the day when I was in my mum and dad's bedroom, and my mum and dad had like mirrors in their room and I was just dancing and being silly in front of their mirrors. Don't know why. Something I do still do to this day, actually. And I was dancing in front of the mirrors and I was being silly, and I remember seeing like I don't know if I saw it in the mirror, I think I saw it in the mirror, and then I I turn and kind of see this naked woman again, full body it wasn't like seen from anything, full bodied entity, wherever it was. It was like a blonde naked lady, right? And it was just walking past me, and I followed it, and it's gone into my mum and dad's bathroom that they had in their bedroom, and I followed this naked lady into my mum and dad's bathroom. Now I thought it was my mum because she was blonde and she would sometimes walk around the house naked, so it wasn't uncommon for her to do that. So I'm just talking to her. Mum, I just started talking to her, fully believing that she's just walked into the bathroom, so I followed her in, saying whatever I'm saying, walked into the bathroom, but there was no one there. And I just remember being like, What the heck? She's disappeared, and just being so confused, yeah, and then it kind of hit me that I've seen something paranormal, and I kind of ran downstairs and my mum was there fully clothed in the kitchen, and I was like, Mum, did you just walk past me in the bedroom? Obviously, she didn't, and she was like, Oh, I've been here, I've been here for ages. What are you talking about? Again, that was another I wasn't again, I wasn't thinking ghost or anything like that. I was just sort of in the moment playing in my in my mum and dad's bedroom, and I seen this full-bodied lady, and it was like and and since because I I've always just you know kind of thought something that looked like my mum. People have said possibly a doppelganger, you know, trying to trick me into I don't know, I don't know what it is, I don't know what it was, but all I can tell you it was like solid, it had blonde hair, it was a naked lady, and I literally followed it into Mumad's bathroom and walked in thinking it was my mum, talking away to my mum, and it wasn't there, it's very strange, man.

Speaker 216:35

That is bizarre.

Speaker 116:36

Yeah.

Speaker 216:38

Wow. Did so beyond you and occasionally your brother, did your parents have any experiences there? They only experience like the weird noises, they experience the feeling, you know.

Speaker 116:53

There was a feeling of like, I don't know, when you go into some of these places that are haunted, you can feel it. You know, there's there's an energy, and they they said that that that was that was their experiences there. I know my mum and dad both have had paranormal experiences, they're both very open to the paranormal, you know, believe in the supernatural. So it it's not strange for them to to hear these experiences. They weren't sort of parents that used to say, no, this is not real, you know. But we never really talked about it at the time. And we didn't talk about it too much when we left. But I remember when we left the house when I was 12, I remember my dad saying, Oh I'm glad we got that house. There's something wasn't right there. Something wasn't right. I remember him saying that. And then obviously as we got a little bit older, we talked about it more, you know. And there was we had good times in that house, don't get me wrong, it wasn't always negative, it wasn't always but there there was there was something, there was something there, you know. There was there was there was it was haunted. I'd love to talk to the people that live there now just to know if they experience the same sort of stuff, you know.

Speaker 217:54

I know what you mean. I I grew up in a haunted house as well, and there is a sense of being weighed down or oppressed all the way throughout, and it's not until you leave that situation do you feel that being lifted from your shoulders. Yeah. It's the biggest relief in the entire world.

Speaker 118:12

Absolutely, man. Absolutely. I remember the first night in the new house that we went into, and this is I I thought about this because it was like it was a big deal. So we moved into this new house, and me and my brother did eventually have a room again together as we got a little bit older. We had like the the upstairs we had like our own little flat in the house. But when we first moved to the house, we had our own rooms, you know, and I remember being in my new bedroom on the first night, and we didn't have any curtains up because we just moved in, so the room wasn't really ready.

You know, we just had boxes and it was just my bed. And I remember being in this new room, laying in my bed, and it was quite bright because the street lights were coming in, so I could see everything. But I remember not being scared and thinking, This is weird.

Why am I not scared? I'm in a new house, I'm laying in bed, and I'm not scared. And that and that for me that was weird, you know. And I was still I d I did eventually have experiences in that house as well as I got a little bit older, but um I wasn't scared for like the first night, which I found very strange, you know, it stood out to me as a 12-year-old.

Speaker 219:17

That's really telling. You know, it's weird though, we share a fear of the dark in common.

Not anymore, but when I was growing up, I thought that if I was because I I've always had really horrendous eyesight, and I knew that if I fell asleep in the dark, I would go blind. I don't know why. I would but I had to have a night light on, had to have something, because otherwise, yeah, I would be uncolable until So I I feel you're paid on that one.

Speaker 119:50

I'm still scared of the dark now. I honestly, if I if my wife's away, I can't be in a dark room. If I'm in a hotel somewhere on my own, I have to have a light on or a telly normally a telly, normally the telly on, because I can't just sleep in the pitch black. I'm just I've seen too much weird stuff. I just don't want to wake up and face something, you know, which I have, and that that's happened again as I've got older. It's happened in this house, to be honest. I can go into that in a bit. But I've I've where you wake up and you see something there, it's terrifying, man, because it's you're very vulnerable. Even when you wake up and your kid's standing at the end of the bed, it's still scary because you know you're in that moment when that happens as well.

Speaker 220:30

What have you ever had an experience in which you felt genuinely threatened?

Speaker 120:36

Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 220:37

Oh god, yeah.

Speaker 120:38

So when I was 21, and this was in the house that we moved into, so this is sort of jumping a little bit, but not too much happened in that house. I feel like I went through a period where maybe I did, but I don't really remember anything stand out other than a UFO experience that I can tell you about. But I so I was 21, I was at university at the time, and I used to live in at uni throughout the week, Monday to Friday, and then come home on Friday, stay there till Sunday. And I was I'm a bit of a homeboy, so I used to like coming home. And I was at university in London as well, so it wasn't actually that far from where I'm from. So I used to go back to Essex every every weekend. And this was at the time me and my brother had our like our own little flat upstairs in this in the house. And so I was 21 at the time. Wasn't when this happened, I wasn't aware too much of like I I was into the paranormal, you know, but I I didn't really know as much as I do now, obviously. And I was laying in bed and I woke up and there was the shape of a man standing over my bed. Right, just like a shadow figure, darker than the dark, you know, it was literally that. It was just the shape of a man, it was it was already a very dark room, but there was the shape of a man there. Now I thought it was my brother. I thought my brother's playing a trick on me, he's he's standing over me while I'm sleeping at night, really freaked me out. Right. And I was I was terrified, I was like, it was like shape. And I've just tried to punch my brother. I'm thinking it's my brother. And I've kind of gone through this thing. And I've obviously made a bit of a noise as I've done this because on the other side of the room my brother turned his side light on. And he was like, Bro, what's the matter? What's the matter? What's going on? What's going on? And I was like, I thought you were standing over me. Definitely something was standing over me. Now at the time I didn't know too much about shadow figures and things like that. I'd obviously I'm into ghosts and I used to watch ghost shows and stuff, but shadow figures weren't discussed, I don't think, when I was 21, like they are now.

Like most people see shadow figures and stuff like that and openly talk about that now. I didn't really know a lot about it back then, so I never really put it down to a shadow figure. It wasn't until talking to more people and looking into the subject that I was like, you know, I've had that. I've woke up and seen something that's darker than the dark in the room. And so when me and my brother shared a room, we would watch telly and it would we'd go to sleep with the telly on and it would just turn itself off and we'd wake up in the morning. But on this occasion, I've woke up, there's something standing over me. Now at the time I sort of put it down as well to I was like tired at university and maybe had a few too many beers that week at university. That's what I kind of put it down to and stress, and I kind of not forgot about it, but put it to the back of my mind, and it wasn't until later I was like, I woke up and there was the shape of a man standing over my bed. And it was I was terrified, but it was a real fear. But that's happened in this house where I've woken up and there's been the shape of someone standing there. You know, I've had it a few times. But you say, Yeah, yeah, you say that's that's why I don't like the dark man. That's why I really do not really that's why I really do not uh so so you say about being attacked. There was a spell in this house where we're in now where I was getting very worried because it wasn't just me, the whole family was experiencing negativity in this house. You know, my wife with kids were seeing stuff and hearing stuff, and it was like it got to the point where my wife said, You need to stop doing this paranormal podcast. And I was like, Oh god, I love it, I love doing it, man. But it was it was was scary, and I you know, I used to pray out loud, and that kind of stopped it. But there was a period where you know I did think, oh, maybe I do have to stop talking about this stuff because I do think when you talk about it, you do invite it as well a little bit, and you have got to be very cautious.

Speaker 224:18

Yeah, that is absolutely the case.

Speaker 124:20

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 224:22

So beyond just experiences, have you had any other negative things that have impacted your life because of your podcast? What in what unparanor? It could be health-related issues.

Speaker 124:41

No, I wouldn't I wouldn't say so. I think I think when I started Let's Get Freaky, I did start experiencing some paranormal to be honest. And I was thinking, man, am I is it because I'm thinking about this stuff all the time and having these conversations? You know, am I inviting it inviting it in? Which I do think you can do. I do think you have to be careful with this kind of stuff. It is fun, it is entertaining, it is enjoyable to hear scary stories and get scared, but there is a danger to it as well. And I I respect that you have to be you have to be careful, and and I everyone's got different ways of kind of looking looking after themselves. Mine is is I pray, and and for me that that works. You know, I know everyone's different. Some people like to sage their house and stuff like that, and absolutely fine. I think what works for you, you should do.

That's what I think. Um and yeah, so I do I I wouldn't say I did go through a spell where there was a lot going on in this house, and I was thinking, you know, what am I doing basically? I don't know if I should be playing with this stuff because there was a lot of weird stuff happening. You know, there was a there was a, for example, there was one night where I kind of woke up. There was quite a few different things that took place quite close together in this house. I've got to be honest, it's kind of stopped. There's the odd little thing that happens every now and again, but you know, there was there was a spell where it was getting pretty intense for about six months or whatever it was. And one night I woke up and I thought my wife was sitting up crying. Like I could see the shape of her sitting up crying, and I kind of went, baby, okay, what's the matter? And I put my hands like on her back to see, like, you know, just to comfort her. And I kind of went through her, looked down, and she was sound asleep. And I was just like, you know, just confused. And I mean, you can argue that you know, I was I was in a sleep state, I woke up, but I don't know, that that was very strange. You know, and there's been other times where I've woke up and there's been a shape of something there. I that is the worst for me. You know, I hate that. It's happened a few times.

Speaker 226:38

There was absolutely terrifying, yeah. I mean, to I've I've suffered from night terrors my entire life, and it's only been within the last two years have those calmed down thanks to some protective measures that I have taken. But yeah, I mean, to to have nightmares literally come to life and stand over you as you're sleeping. I can't imagine anything worse than that.

Speaker 127:08

Oh man, yeah. It is obviously it's it's terrifying when it happens. You know, it hasn't happened for a while. Touch wood, you know, I don't want it to happen. Um I've had enough paranormal to to know that it's real. You know, I don't want any more. There was there was a night where me and my wife were watching uh it was like a love show on Netflix. One of these lady shows my wife wanted to watch. I was watching it, Love Island or whatever it's called. And we're watching this show and it sounds like a joke, but we heard really loud, it like lit the room up. Like a like a like a cartoon ghost. You know, like if you're watching a cartoon and there's a ghost, it was like that, and it lit the room up. I'm like, what the heck? And this was actually the moment my wife looked at me and went, You need to stop doing this paranormal podcast. That was the moment, and I was like, I can't. You know, we weren't too scared, we were just shocked. And I checked the house, you know, it wasn't anything, you know, it was in the room, it sounded like it was in the room. We stopped the show we were watching, we were around the show, watched it again just to see if it was on the show that we were watching. It might have been on the show. It wasn't bizarre. Uh what the heck was that? No idea what that was. There was, you know, uh one night I've just finished doing the podcast, and I finish about normally about three o'clock in the morning, four o'clock in the morning, and I can never go straight to bed after doing a podcast. I have to have a cup of tea and you know, watch telly for a bit and calm down. I went downstairs making myself a cup of tea, and I'm in the kitchen, and I wasn't particularly thinking anything paranormal or anything like that, and I heard Dad like very clear, like that. And I've turned around expecting one of my kids to be there, no one there, and I was like, man, what the heck was that? Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Yeah, man. And there was a there was a few different things like this happening in this house. The thing that happened with my kids that really was worrying. So there was it was it was a Saturday night, and I've got two daughters and a son, and my wife and my two daughters were having a girl's night in the front room. They were like watching galley movies and having a girl's night, and they were all gonna sleep downstairs. And me and Fred, my boy, we were gonna sleep in my room, right? So they're downstairs, I'm upstairs, I had the hallway, the hallway light on.

Because as I say, my wife's not there, I'm a wimp. The lights on. So I'm I'm not really sleeping. Fred's asleep, and I'm laying there. Fred, he was, I think he was four when this happened. Yeah, I think he was four. I'm laying there and he's sat up. Now he was asleep, so you can again he was in like a sleep mode. He sat up, he pointed to the door, and he went, Amy, Amy's my oldest daughter. And I went, Well, you saw Amy, Fred. He went, Yeah, Amy's just explaining that Amy just walked by. He might have been five, four or five. And I was like, that's weird. Why is he saying that? Because I've checked, I've checked the room. Amy's still downstairs. Amy's my oldest daughter, she's still downstairs with my wife. I said, Oh, that's weird. I said, Fred, what did you see, mate? And he went, I saw Amy, and it this was his words, she was all brown. I was like, what the heck? You know, and I'm yeah. For me, that was enough. We were downstairs with the girls. I was like, We're joining the girls' night. I'm not standing up here anymore. So I took him downstairs and we all slept downstairs that night. Didn't think too I kind of didn't think too much of it. That same week, so we didn't tell my daughters about this or anything like that. We I don't promote the paranormal to my kids, you know, I don't try and push them for experiences or anything like that. You know, they do have weird stuff happens that they tell us, but I don't push it and I don't like want them to have weird experiences. So it wasn't something we talked about. That very same week. So I finish at work one o'clock in the morning, UK time, so everyone's normally asleep when I get home. I've got home and and uh one of the lights is on in the house. I was like, that's strange. I opened the door, and my middle daughter Ruby is sitting at the top of the stairs. And I said, Ruby, what's the matter? What's the matter? And she was a little bit scared, and she said, Daddy, mummy said I can sleep in your room tonight. I saw Amy walk past, and she described exactly basically what Fred saw the same week. She she saw the same thing, and it wasn't Amy. Amy didn't walk past that spot and it really scared her.

So that kind of happened as well with the kids where they started seeing stuff. I was like, man, you know, this is it it felt threatening, it it didn't feel nice. I just prayed out loud, you know, and I was praying out loud, and you know, as I say, it kind of stopped. You know, it was getting quite intense and it stopped, thankfully.

Speaker 231:26

But yeah, it wasn't it was you say that you pray, there is there any particular prayers that you pray? Is it just free form? Just freeform, really.

Speaker 131:36

I'm I'm a Christian. I've always been I've always been Christian since I was since I recommend since day one, basically, you know. I don't go to church every week, I'm not the strongest Christian, you know, it's just something that I've always been, and uh that was it. I was like, you know, in Jesus' name, you're not welcoming his house, please live and for me that works, you know. That works it's kind of made me closer to my life, I would say, you know, seeing that work. Yeah.

Speaker 232:07

Anything anything of the spiritual world approaches you, of course, it's gonna enclosure. Benedict metals, uh prayers. I've had a ton of bad experiences when I w while I've been doing this show and I've had to take precautions. Japanese emoti charms for protection against evil.

Speaker 132:47

And this was my first gift when I was a kid. It was the first ever gift that I had when I was older. Yeah, it's always every show I do is there, man. You know, it just helps you. It makes me feel protected and I think I think it works, you know. And I think that as well. Yeah. Because it's not many is is fun as I say. But there is a dangerous idea to it as well. And I do think we're constantly attacked, I don't think it's something that will go away. You know, I think it could happen at any time and you've just got to be ready for it, you know. Before it does escalate, you know, because these things can escalate as well.

Speaker 233:19

It can, especially if you're dealing with something that goes from the paranormal into the pert natural.

That's when things get really bloody scary. So while you've had any of these experiences, have you had a witness with you? Has there been someone else who could actually verify that yes, this actually happened?

Speaker 133:44

The stuff that happened really in the house, you know, a lot of the stuff we all experienced. My wife experienced it as well. You know, hearing me another thing that happened, she heard me call her name whilst I was at work, you know. And this wasn't she wasn't asleep when it happened. Yeah. That's happened twice when she's actually heard me say her name whilst I've not been here. So we've all experienced the same but actually being with someone when I've had an experience, I'm trying to think of the UFO experiences. I've I've seen weird things in the sky, and it's normally been with someone as well. Um yeah, I'm gonna share them.

Speaker 234:25

Yeah, I uh anything you have to share. I I am absolutely riveted, so yeah, please.

Speaker 134:32

So when I was 14, this is the first kind of UFO experience I would say. I was 14 years old. Me and my brother and our friends used to play like football in the street every summer, every all actually all year round. Summer, winter, we was always in the street playing football. But this took place during the summer on a beautiful day, uh, when the sky was clear, you know, we were all just playing football. And this this is weird because this is quite a big experience, really, when I tell you this. But we kind of I kind of not forgot this, but the memory for some reason just I'll explain. So we're we're playing football, and I don't know if it was me, my brother, or one of our friends said, What is that in the sky? Right? We've all stopped and we're looking at this object in the sky, and it's gonna sound wild, but this is this is what it was. If you if you took like like a building from Dubai, you know, like those funky shaped kind of buildings, right? Picked it up, plopped it in the sky, and just let it flow, that is what we saw. It's very high up in the sky, but that is basically, you know, that is how I can describe it to you. It's orange and silver, and it was just this like very rectangle shape, but strange shapes. There was like weird patterns coming off it and stuff, but it was just there in the sky, it wasn't moving, it wasn't changing direction or anything, it was just still in the sky. And we're watching this thing, and we're like, is it a balloon? And I what is it? Is it a plane? It wasn't a plane, it wasn't moving at all. Um, it wasn't a balloon, it wasn't a hot air balloon or anything like that.

This thing was just there, and it was it was like nothing I've seen really. I've not seen it, I've seen things close to it, but I've not ever seen exactly what we saw that day. I've never seen it, and it was just like bizarre, you know, it had very strange patterns on it. You know, I kind of I think as I remember this more, I've like added stuff on in my memory, if that makes sense. But I feel like I've added windows and stuff, but I don't think we couldn't see windows on this thing, right? It was too high up. But I feel like the more I'm thinking about it, the more I may be adding stuff to it. But there was no it seemed like there could be windows on this thing, but I can't say there was. But we're watching this thing for like 10, 5, 10 minutes, and it really bugs me. But we just started playing football again. We didn't watch it disappear, didn't watch it fly away. I can't even tell you really how that day ended.

I can't tell you if we if we talked about it again that day or not, because me and my brother, as far as I'm aware, we didn't talk about it, which is quite weird because it was a very strange thing to see. So I started doing let's get skipping forward, started doing let's get freaky podcast, writing down all my experiences and thinking back of all the weird stuff I've experienced throughout my life and what my family's experienced and stuff like that. And this memory didn't come back to me, which I thought was quite weird because it was quite a big thing that we saw, and I'm really into UFOs and stuff, but I didn't think about it. And and I was talking to Kat Ward from Paranormal Heart Podcast, and really great lady, the first time I'd ever been on a podcast to share experiences, and I'm talking away, and we're talking away, and we're talking about UFOs, and this memory came back, and I was like, I'm gonna I'm gonna share it because I don't know, it's it's there. I shared the memory of Earth, we talked about it, and I was like, I've finished the podcast. I remember thinking, like, that's really weird that I've not remembered this. Because it was an incredible thing, you know. Why have I never thought about this again? How's this memory lost? Like, how can I not and then I started thinking, am I was that a weird dream? Have I just made that up? Have I which I really don't want to be that person that does that and starts sharing nonsense, you know? Right. But my brother rung me up a couple of days later, and he and it, you know, it it really made me feel better because he went, bro, like I really enjoyed listening and all this sort of stuff. And he went, I remember seeing that thing on that day, that UFO. What was it? And why have we never talked about it? And I was like, I'm so glad that you remember as well. Because I started doubting myself. I started thinking, oh, surely I would have remembered that. Why am I but where's that memory come from? Why was just so glad that he remembered it as well. Again, don't know what it was, you know, there's no but he remembers it, which was great for me.

That was enough for me to know that you know that memory's there, and it is there, that memory's there. It was just very strange how through those years we never discussed it. It was such an incredible thing to see.

Speaker 238:40

I can only begin to imagine, yeah. But you know, I've I witnessed something I can't explain in the sky with my grandmother, and beyond talking about it once or twice in the days following it, it never came up again. So I I can understand that, yeah. It stands out as a blip and then the blip disappears. And I don't know why that's the case, but it seems to be.

Speaker 139:10

Yeah, it is weird. It's weird. We put these memories, I don't know, we put them to the back of our mind, I don't know why. But there there's another one more recent. So when I was 27 years old, me and my wife, we had we had a flat in Brentwood, not too far away, actually, from where I saw the UFO when I was 14. It's just the other side of Brentwood, basically, which is a few miles down, it's not not that big, Brentwood.

And so we were on the full floor of a block of flats on the top floor, which was the fourth floor. And this again, so I was I saw this with someone else. So it was me and my mother-in-law, and we were just it was a lovely summer's day again, clear sky, blue sky, and we were just talking at the window, and we're chatting away, and then opposite the flats across the road, there's like a little forested area, and out of the forested area came these three objects, and we were both just talking away, and then we saw these three objects, and they weren't that big, they were like the size of a basketball, each of them, and they were kind of floating around each other, but not actually touching, but they were in kind of like a triangle formation, three of them, and they were like floating around each other, and all three of the balls were like constantly changing shape, they were like never the same shape, they were constantly changing, and they were always like something different going on.

There was always like a different shape, different pattern, and they were like kind of like you know, in the Terminator when he melts, and it's that silvery metallic look. That's the kind of look these things were. And me and my mother-in-law are watching this and we're talking about we're saying, What the heck is that? Are they balloons? Like, what are they? Uh we just could not make out what they were, but they were just moving in a very strange way, and they were kind of floating up, floating up, constantly moving, constantly changing shape. And we're watching these things for I don't know, five minutes, something like that, and they're going up and up and up, and they got really high up, and all of a sudden you just saw flash, flash, flash, and they all just shot off into the atmosphere. And and that was a moment where we're like, well, they definitely want balloons, because balloons don't do that. What the heck have we seen? You know, we've been to this day, you know, over ten years on now, we talk about it all the time. You know, every time we're at like a family party and the paranormal and UFOs comes up, we both we we we bring that up, and family members look at us and they're like, it sounds like balloons. But I don't trust me, they were not balloons. Balloons do not move like this, you know, they were very strange, and balloons don't just shoot off into the atmosphere. So again, I put that in the UFO UFO category, don't really know what it is, but just another weird experience in my life.

Speaker 241:44

That both of those are amazing encounters. I mean, I don't even know. Yeah, I don't typically go over UFOs just because it's I've only had one or two experiences myself, and I've never, yeah, I've always been fascinated with them. Like when I was growing up, my mom would buy me these high life series of books, and some of them were about dragons and wizards and other things, and then another whole set was around, you know, aliens and and uh extradimensional travel, and yeah, so I mean my interests have always ran that gambit as well. But yeah, for some reason I've I don't know, my education or something has made me focus more on one particular subset of issues than everything.

Speaker 142:36

There's so much to it, man. With UFOs, there's so much different possibilities, and there's a lot of different things going on that I think we put in the same category. You know, I think there's differ like the two big things that I've experienced where I saw the building shape thing in the sky and those orb-like things. I mean, there were two very different things that we we put in the same category. I think there's a lot of different things going on that we kind of call UFOs, but I think there could be like with cryptids and things like that. I think there's different versions of these things that we kind of put in the same box, if that makes sense. There's so much, there's so much to it, man. There really is. Wow. I've seen I've seen other weird stuff in the sky. Like lights that can't explain, and you know. I think for guys like us, we're always looking for it. And I think when you're looking for it and you're open to it, I think there's something to that.

Speaker 243:22

I think that's why we have so much weird stuff happening. Do you cover a lot of cryptid stuff as well?

Speaker 143:27

Yeah, I'm fascinated with cryptids. Bigfoot's a big reason why I do this. The hairy hands? I don't know. What's that?

Speaker 243:35

It's based in the UK, I believe. It's uh a particular road, and people will claim that as they're driving, the wheel is being the drive the driving wheel is being jerked in one direction or another, and it's caused several accidents. And then later people claim that it was a pair of hairy hands that wraps around the steering wheel. It's fascinating.

Speaker 144:00

Do you know what part of the UK that's in?

Speaker 244:02

I do not. It's been a long time since I even talked about it, but it's just the location kind of uh sprang to my mind. But yeah, I'll I'll look that up and I'll I'll send it to you offline. Yeah, I sound terrified, man. Give me one second here. No problem, brother. And I guess I'll wrap up by asking you how do you balance open-mindedness with skepticism? Because I'm I'm sure that you've talked with people from all walks of life, all places, and you've heard a lot of different things. But, you know, I've I've had interviews with people in which my my spidey sense was going off, and you know, otherwise I always try to be open and honest for people and want to believe what they have to say. But yeah, how do you achieve that right kind of balance for you?

Speaker 144:53

That's a good question, man. I mean, I I everyone I talk to, you know, I've got I've got this thing where I I trust everyone I talk to, man. Unless someone gives me a reason to doubt, which has never really happened, to be honest. You know, I'm sure people do come on the show and you know, maybe share false information. I don't know. I don't want to, I don't know. I hope not, obviously, but I pretty much I trust most everyone that I talk to, really. You know, I'm sure there are people that fabricate stories, of course, but personally I try and be more skeptical myself, you know, because I was always, especially when I started Let's Get Freaky podcast, you know, everything that happened in the house or everything that happened, I would always jump straight to the paranormal. That's paranormal, you know. And I'm trying to be a little bit more sceptical because not everything is paranormal, you know. There are sometimes logical explanations. I'm sure some of the experiences I've had sometimes maybe there is logical explanations. I'm not saying everything there's there's there's been enough for me to know that this stuff is real, but at the same time, I do jump, as I say, to the paranormal every time. Just try and stay open-minded. That's really my because we don't none of us really know what's going on in this world, you know, this crazy world, this supernatural world. All I all I know, that I say I know, all I can say really is that I do believe there is a lot going on around us that we can't see, and we sometimes get a glimpse of that. That's where I am with it, you know. I think it does kind of intertwine with our reality as well. But just I just try and stay open-minded. So many people have these experiences, you know. Even people that don't want to talk about it will say they don't believe it, have these experiences as well. You know, it's very it's it's it's quite uncommon actually to meet someone that's never experienced anything supernatural, I find. You know, most people know someone that they trust that has had a world experience, or they've had an experience themselves. Um, but yeah, I hope that answers your question, man.

Speaker 246:46

I just try and say that was a perfect answer. You couldn't have gotten any better than that. So, Tommy, I I cannot thank you enough for sharing your experiences. Pleasure, brother. This was this was absolutely amazing. I have been so looking forward to talking to you, and it turned <span data-t="2822.
